After a nearly five-month wait, on Tuesday Joel and I were able to get back into the studio to do some of the final tracking on the EP.
Joel and I can’t agree on whether this recording just won’t die or it just doesn’t want to live, but in the end that’s just talk. The important thing is that on Tuesday night we brought a finished product a little closer to being a reality, and there is more reason to hope that it will get done, and that it will turn out well.
Graham is still busy as he has been for months now, but he was able to get us some studio time with another assistant engineer at the studio, Geoff Neal, who is generously giving us some of his evenings to help finish this project. Conveniently, we were able to get the same room where we did a lot of the vocal tracking back in October, so after a bit of doing, Geoff and Joel were able to recall the vocal sounds almost exactly. Pretty awesome.
Boy does Joel know how to tell some lame jokes when he is sleep deprived and around someone he doesn’t know very well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but I will say that Geoff took it pretty well. One thing I do know for certain is that Joel is very glad to finally be back in the studio.
