Coming off some much needed rest we arrived at the studio on Wednesday to find we had been bumped from Studio 2 by what promises to be a very interesting collaboration between an American postmodern legend and a young female French vocalist.
This left us in studio 3, which I will take any day of the week, Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 not excluded. So here are some more pics of Graham, Amber, and I doing what we do best, making noise.
I wish I were a better blogger, because then I might be able to express the gratitude that fills my heart when I think about the time I’ve been fortunate enough to spend working on this recording. The chain of events that got us here was so convoluted and at more than one juncture felt well beyond the reaches of my own power and planning. If my efforts and goals continue to derail with similar results I will be a happy boy.
Thursday night turned out to be an exciting one, as we completed the vocals on the final track with some new chorus backups that written right there on the fly. Seeing how much of the rest of this recording has been so painstakingly planned and demoed out in an attempt to conserve precious studio time, I found this spontaneous creative flourish to be most welcome and exhilarating!
Well for now it’s back to the grind of session organization and production planning. Hopefully there will be more to report soon.
Love,
Joel
