our dirty, messy apartment in Silver Lake

Silverlake Squalor

Okay…squalor might be too strong of a word, but having moved in a rush less than two weeks ago, holding three late-night band rehearsals a week, going out and drinking more than we probably should, being broke, and just plain not being able to grasp whether things are going really well or horribly wrong, can lead to having a very dirty and messy apartment.

This isn’t normal for Joel and I, we usually run a tight ship as far as cleanliness is concerned, but this month’s whirlwind of getting the recording done, finally getting a full band together, looking for new jobs, and finding a new apartment all in the last month have gotten the best of us.

Our new apartment is cheap and is in Silver Lake, though, which is pretty damn awesome. We are very close to our new lockout and our new bandmates, and the accomplishments of the last month, although we have less money, fewer possessions, and are more weary than ever, give us hope that what we have may really be a lot more than it appears.
