a little less glamorous

Most projects undertaken by Joel and I (and any unfortunate souls we can convince to get involved!), for some reason, always take much longer and turn out to be more work than we originally envisioned. But perfectionists as we are, rarely a project we start will be finished with a half-hearted effort. In this case, we devised a plan and started remodeling our lockout in February, and despite our best efforts, it is still a work in process.

So far we’ve insulated the walls and ceiling, installed new drywall, re-painted the walls, trim, and ceiling tiles, put sound-absorbing carpet on the walls, modified the lights, made countless trips to Home Depot, and more times than felt good, completely rearranged all of the construction supplies and our band’s music equipment in order to make our three rehearsals a week possible amid the chaos.

Its been dirty, it’s been exhausting, and, to be honest, at times a little frustrating, but like anything worthwhile, I suppose we shouldn’t have expected it to be easy. When its done, though, we shall be rehearsing and looking forward to some good times…in luxury.
